A leap from city to mountain paradise

What's so special about the Kamnik-Savinja Alps? Stunningly beautiful green valleys, led by the extraordinary Logar Valley, surrounded by a mighty mountain backdrop of more than 30 two-thousanders, where life retains its authenticity and time stands still. Here, people still place great value on tradition and are happy to bring it to the attention of visitors. The mountain villages of Jezersko and Luče reflect the harmonious coexistence of nature and man. Hiking and biking adventures during the year are replaced in winter by skiing pleasures in the popular ski resorts of Krvavec, Golte and Velika planina. The magic of nature, where a wealth of clear and healthy waters flow, and where cattle still graze on the flourishing Velika planina, is only minutes away from the urban streets of major cities with rich cultural and historical heritage – the capital Ljubljana as well as Kranj and Kamnik.

Here I learned almost everything needed to climb much more notorious mountains. The advantage of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps lies in their variety and manageability.
