Enjoy cycling on both the Czech and the German sides of the Ore Mountains. Thanks to the Goal3 project "Ore Mountains Cycling Region", a parallel connection was made between the leading highways: Krušnohorská on the Czech side and the long-distance Sächsische Mittelgebirge on the German side.

The Znojmo and Podyjí regions in South Moravia, near the Austrian border, are famous for their beautiful wine cycling trails. Today, we are presenting new and fresh trails, which you will find within the reach from the royal town of Znojmo. You can take an interesting trip from Znojmo in all directions.

We bring you tips on cycling trails, information about the Giant Mountains cyclo-buses and places where refreshments and bike-servicing are available. Get inspired and step on the pedal.

The Broumovsko Bike Resort in the north-east corner of Bohemian, near the Polish border, seems to have been cut out cycling. You can look forward to beautiful wild nature of the Broumov Highlands, which is another proof that the Czech Republic is a small paradise for cyclists.

A cycling route which begins in Germany will lead you past attractive sights in West and North Bohemia. It could alternatively be called the castle trail because of the abundance of memorable castles along the way, such as Cheb, Loket, Libochovice – a world-known treasure. Get on your bike! The nature reserve of Toulovcovy maštale (Toulovec’s Stables) is the perfect place for hiking and cycling trips – you can see sandstone rock formations and scenic surroundings from the top of look-out towers. Besides the natural sights, also worth visiting is a museum of pipes, located in a historical timbered farmhouse in the town of Proseč, and the Rococo chateau Nové Hrady. The most exquisite natural beauty and historical sights can be seen along the nine cycling trails, which are 140km long all together. You can refresh yourself in the traditional pub U Toulovce. And who exactly was Toulovec? According to one legend he was a robber knight who hid out in this area.

When you take a turn to the valley of the Vsetínská Bečva River at the village of Ústí, near Vsetín, you might find yourselves in a completely different world just a few hundred metres along the valley road. And it does not matter if you are travelling by car, or cycling along the Bečva Cycling Trail, the queen of the Moravian cycling trails. The slopes of the Wallachian Mountains rise along both banks of the river – Vsetín Beskids on the right bank, and Javorníky on the left bank. The countryside is completed with grazing meadows with small herds of sheep, goats, cattle and horses, and villages seemingly strung along the river.

What’s the best way of seeing the magical landscapes of the Vysočina Region and its wealth of architecture? From the saddle of your bike, of course! If you’re one of those people who like to have a ride and enjoy a holiday full of activities, exercise, fun and learning, head out along the cycling trail linking the two largest towns in the Vysočina Region, Jihlava and Třebíč, with the Austrian town of Raabs an der Thaya. Around 130 km of marked trails give you the chance to learn about some interesting towns and eye-catching chateaux. It generally runs through dense forest and flower-filled meadows and also visits a Czech UNESCO site.
