Hampton Roads Rubber Duck Race

This event has been postponed due to COVID-19.

Save the date to come out and cheer on thousands of participating rubber ducks as they race down the Intracoastal Waterway at Great Bridge in support of Children’s Health Investment Program (CHIP).

The owner of the winning duck will receive a BIG prize and there will be music, fabulous food from local restaurants, children’s games and even storytelling by local celebrities. This event has become a favorite tradition of both young and old in Hampton Roads. Held annually in April, Child Abuse Prevention month, thousands of community members purchase their duck to compete in the big race with hopes of winning fantastic prizes, especially the $10,000 grand prize!  

Where: Intracoastal Waterway at Great Bridge 116 Reservation Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322

When: This event has been postponed due to COVID-19, stay tuned for a new date!

Cost: Buy a duck (they are just $5 each with discounts for larger purchases) to race or just come to cheer them on! The event itself is FREE.
