Customers can compound a resin, injection mold ASTM test specimen, characterize their material in our testing lab, simulate an injection molding process and attend polymer education seminars all in one facility: The Polymers Center.
Testing services are essential to understand the composition of your materials. Processors bring their materials to the Polymers Center for mechanical, rheological, and chemical assessments. We work with them to analyze their current material mixes and find new ones using our fully stocked laboratory resources. We frequently serve as a third-party verifier, resolving issues between vendors and processors.
Polymer training at our facility is unlike any other. Courses at the Polymers Center strongly emphasize practical application and close engagement with cutting-edge tools. Our experienced teachers are committed to supplying professionals with the knowledge and abilities they need to succeed, and they are educated in the most recent polymer processing methods.
Our courses are designed to meet the educational goals of both individuals and businesses. No matter your skill level, there is always more to learn, and the Polymers Center is the perfect location to do so.
At the Polymers Center, injection molding services are perfect for designing products and conducting detailed trials. To run tests related to research, development, and training, our labs have three high-quality injection molding machines. Additionally, we offer assistance with urgent product requirements and comprehensive tooling testing. A 2"x3" variable thickness plaque mold, a spiral flow mold, and an ASTM test specimen mold are among the molds we have on hand.
Our facility keeps modern extrusion and compounding machinery in good working order. Our compounding services are an excellent resource for furthering the development of your products. We maintain single-screw and twin-screw extruders for lab-scale to full-scale production. With our high-quality equipment, we can produce a mono-layer cast and blown film out of your polymer compounds.
We can stand or underwater pelletize, and we have gravimetric feeders on all of our compounding machines. Our compounding lines have capacities ranging from 5 lbs/hour for development work to 1500 lbs/hour for production.
The Polymers Center here in North Carolina was established to further knowledge, offer technical assistance, and help businesses in the plastics industry. We provide the chance to work with experts in the field in a unique setting with the finest technology to enhance the performance of products.
